Random Thoughts

                              These past few months have been crazy....I never thought I would become a Kindergarten teacher in the middle of a school year and have all my kids improve soooo much. It was hard to understand how loud I can be in the classroom. It wasn't a bad thing but it wasn't a good thing either....I went and observed quite a few teachers at another school and realized that I raised my voice & tried to talk over the students instead of lowering my voice and forcing them to listen to me.  Plus, I really need to improve on giving out compliments for good behavior. I got stuck on focusing on bad behavior instead of reinforcing the good behavior.

                             I was hoping to stay in Kindergarten one more year and then transfer into a different grade. I'm excited to be teaching 2nd grade next year. I will see what class I get....Our school ability groups the kids by test scores and teacher recommendations.  I will either get the high or low class as there will only be 2 class for second grade.

                             This summer is going to be super busy as a stay at home mom!!! I love spending time with Jacee. It is crazy!!! I need to work with her on becoming potty trained, recognizing #'s, colors and all types of crazy things. It is sooo much fun to watch her grow and develop.  I also love it when her & Aiden sing and dance. They are really crazy!!!

                             Did I mention that I am going to Vegas for a teacher conference and to Phoenix for a reading conference? It will be a lot of fun!!! I am super excited to learn new ideas and techniques to apply to the classroom....

                             I am grateful for Susie Brinkerhoff, she has taken on the task of babysitting Jacee for me!!! She is one awsome lady and her kids are soooo adorable.  She is great with Jacee and I am thankful that Jacee gets to spend time with someone who loves her almost as much as I do.
