Seven after Sunday

1. I have recently been called as a Primary Worker in my Ward. I am actually excited to start teaching again. I will be working with the kids who have turned six this year. I actually had the majority of them in Nursery....

2. I can't believe how much Jacee has grown in the past year....She is a beautiful little girl who loves to laugh, have books read to her, randomly walk around the house while checking to see if Aiden is following her and spending time with Grandma....

3. Today when I went to work and was talking to one of the teacher's that I assist, she randomly said, "we put a plug in for you to teach next year". What???? Yeah!!!  Her and the Assistant Principal mentioned that I wanted to teach and was working on getting my Interm Teaching Certification to our Head Boss....I LOVE MY JOB!!!

4. I really can't believe how much my life has changed in a year.  Last year I was feeling hopeless and depressed about everything that had happened to me when I became a Single MOM....Many of those who were against my decision have now become some of my strongest supporters....The Gospel changes lives and when we have the courage to take a stand for what is right, Heavenly Father will give us the support we need!!!

5. I love softball so much. I can't believe how much I have missed it. Playing on Wednesday night with a great bunch of gals has totally made my mood so much better. Before it seemed like I didn't have a social life at all....Now it feels like I can't get enough! I am also grateful for the fact many of the players that I play with are so willing to help out with Jacee....This makes life soooo much easier!!! Yes, my family still believes that I will die on a softball field....

6. I have started crafting again....Yes, I am crazy! No, I don't have time for any more projects however, I love to make cute things....I get jealous when I see all the cute crafts that are posted from everyone's SUPER SATURDAY....I want to do them all!!! Right now, I finished another Paper Bag scrapbook....Next I want to work on some word blocks for Thanksgiving and Christmas....

7. I am grateful for friends who want the best for you....Yes, I do miss hanging out with Shellie Eaton and I'm soooo excited that her & Walter are back here in the Valley of the Sun!!!!  I also miss hanging out with Jon Goodman, he is in the middle of doing an apprenticeship with Intel and has some crazy hours with both work and school!!! It is amazing how life has brought me back into touch with them....

Seven after Sunday

It has been a while since I have posted....

1. I am thankful for the opportunity to play softball again in Mesa. The women's league is sooooo much fun on Wednesday night @ Red Mtn. I love the fact that we don't have any late games especially since it is the winter season!!!

2. I am grateful for my sister, Michelle, for giving my daughter, Jacee, the opportunity to travel back to Washington DC. She was able to meet her cousins (Will, Annmarie, Jeffrey, Jed & Henry) and Aunt Karen & Uncle Chris for the 1st time.

3. Congratulations to my favorite niece Annmarie for making the decision to be baptized. What a great example you are to your siblings and cousins! Hence the reason for the trip...

4. Did I mention how much I love my new job???  It is such a blessing to work as the Teacher's Aid in the Special Education Department and a Kindergarten Classroom at Happy Valley East Charter School.  The children are amazing and are a great example of what it means to never give up on your goals in life....

5. I am thankful for strong friends! They have made the decision of becoming a Single Mom so much easier. I know that I wouldn't be where I am today without their love and support....

6. I am extremely grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the opportunity it gives to me to repent and be forgiven of my sins so I will be able to return to live with My Loving Heavenly Father someday.

7. I am also extremely grateful for a Living Prophet here on the Earth Today, Thomas S Monson. I know that he leads and guides us through the direction of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It was such a great honor to be able to listen and learn from him during General Conference.

Seven after Sunday

1. After becoming a single parent and listening to all the comments everyone had to say, I still have a hard time believing that things will work out in the end even when miracles have happened along the way. I need to continue to keep choosing what is good and looking towards my Heavenly Father & His Son, Jesus Christ.

2. Goals: I need to really step it up and set some financial, physical & spiritual goals for this upcoming year. I also need to make a plan on how to accomplish them....

3. This past week has been one of the greatest weeks ever since becoming a mother. I had the opportunity to feel what it is like to be a stay at home mom!!!  Wow, what a great feeling!!! I got to go to the park almost everyday with Jacee & watch her explore her new surroundings.

4. My favorite part at night is when Jacee brings me a book to read. I don't like the fact that I have to read that book over & over again but I do like the fact that she wants to sit with me. She is sooo much fun to read to & I hope her love for books continues throughout life...

5. I really like my new job, yes, it was very hard to go back to work today, however, the students that I work with are awsome!!! They have sooo much energy and make life fun! It is really easy being their teacher....

6. I finally have my own classroom with computers!!! I should take a picture....

7. This is what I am trying to work on....

Seven after Sunday

Sorry it is so late! This week has been crazy...

1. So thankful for school breaks....I haven't been able to spend this much time with Jacee since my maternity leave. It has been fun and I'm definately not looking forward to next week! We went to the zoo with Aunt Michelle & Aiden and we've been able to go to the park almost every day

2. I need to take more pictures of Jacee. She is growing up so fast!!! This past week she finally decided to let go & start walking by herself.  It is interesting to watch her decide when she wants to walk, scoot or crawl...

3. I am also grateful for books! Jacee will randomly pick up a book and want me to read it to her. She will either sit on my lap or right next to me.  It is sooo much fun.  I need to become more dramatic while reading to keep her attention longer...

4. I am grateful for the opportunity to watch General Conference. I learned so much this past weekend. I definately saw the blessings that have come into my life these past 6 months and what I need to work on in the next 6 months. It is amazing how Heavenly Father knows exactly what we need to hear...

5. I haven't been doing as well as I would like to with my Pampered Chef business. I know that I need to set more time aside, however, with my new job and keeping up with Jacee it has been crazy. I am grateful for the friends who have supported me by buying products through shows or individually off my website...

6. I need to start setting financial goals and athletic goals so I can become a better person and mom. I know that I have what it takes.  I need to stop procrastinating and move on with my life.  Everyone else has...

7. These two little people make life worth living....

Seven after Sunday

Tonight was a great night! A friend pointed out several things to me in away I never thought of looking at life before or at least it has been a while since I have....  He asked me to imagine myself a year ago and picture myself today....

1. I am grateful for a healthy beautiful daughter who amazes me each and every day. This past weekend was fun to watch her explore the playground. She is becoming more and more independent and I don't know if I like that.... It is true our little ones grow way to fast!!!

2. I am grateful for a new job where I can exploit my talents in working with the Special Education Department at Happy Valley East Charter School.. I love teaching and am excited for this opportunity. Each of my students are unique and special.  They amaze me at what they can do!!!

3. I am grateful for my Mom, Michelle and Marian!  They have been there for me through it all. Without each of them I don't know where I would be today... I know that I don't always show it but I do love them very much!!!

4. I am grateful for my friend Jon. He has been there for me when I needed a shoulder to cry on, someone to talk to, someone to bounce ideas off of and most of all his encouragement to keep going and not give up....

5. I am grateful for a Loving Heavenly Father who hears and answers our prayers. It may not always be on our time and it may not be at all because He knows what is best for us...He knows us personally and Loves each and everyone of us!!!

6. I am grateful for what I have learned this past year, as my friend says, you can't always look at the negative, otherwise, you will become depressed and pessisimistic, you can't always look at the positive because you won't learn from your mistakes, if we take one step at a time and look at each lesson we've had, we will grow and become a better person for it....

7. This picture says it all....

Seven after Sunday

This week has been incredible...

1. I can't believe that Jacee is sooo much like me!!!! She is now walking with her toys and with one hand, hopefully, she starts walking by herself soon.

2. I started working at Happy Valley East Charter School as a regular aid and was changed to the Special Education Assistant.  Yesterday, I went and observed the Special Ed program at Burk Basic School. I learned a lot and found out that I am doing pretty well as a teacher for never teaching before.

3.  My students are so much fun to work with and I am learning sooo much from them.

4. I wish I was better at time management. If I was, I would probably be doing a lot better with my Pampered Chef business.  One of these days, i will figure it out.

5. I had fun making a scrapbook last Friday night with my friend, Shellie Eaton. I definately need to do it again. I soooo miss doing scrapbooks and crafts.

6. What do you think about re-doing furniture? I have started looking at several blogs and different posts from people on facebook and craigslist....I always wonder if I would be good enough to make a profit at it.  I think it would be a great skill to learn.

7. Softball.....

Seven after Sunday

And here we go again....

1. This has been the best start ever for a job.  Finally, found a job that I can see myself doing for a very long time.  If you told me about 5 years ago that I would be working with elementary age students, I would of said you're crazy!!!  I love working with these special little guys....

2. I know that Heavenly Father answers prayers through other people and am very grateful for everyone who has been supportive and prayerful during this time in my life.

3. Jacee is so funny. She started crawling up on her hands and knees because that is what Aiden does. It is also fun to watch them follow eachother around the house while laughing.

4. I love this saying:

5. I also like this one:

6. If we  all remembered this our lives would be so much better off:

7. I know that if we continue to do what is good and strive to be our best, Heavenly Father will bless us, sometimes it is right away and other times we need to learn some valuable lessons along the way.  It is very hard to be patient, however, in the end, the Master said, "It would be Worth It"

Seven after Sunday

This week has been really crazy....I think I'm still on cloud 9 most of the time!!!

1. I am grateful for a Heavenly Father who knows us personally & answers our concerns. I had been thinking a lot lately on my decision to become a mother and wondering if I was doing a good job or not...  Tonight I received my answer through a child psycholigists who knows me personally when he said, "You are doing an awsome job as a mother" I can see it by the way Jacee acts and then reacts to your actions in different situations. This brought some much needed comfort...

2. I am grateful for the little things in life...I don't know who was having more fun (Marian or Jacee & Aiden) playing with the new toys????

3. Plus, Jacee & Aiden love their new turtle. I don't have a picture of Aiden riding it though....

4. Why is it when you are changing jobs that you start to ponder about your current job....I am definately not going to miss the politics and wondering why certain people have jobs and others can't even get a raise let alone a promotion...However, I will miss a lot of the customers that we deliver to and a couple of the guys that work with at the back counter...if it weren't for them life would have been even more miserable.  The best is that they think Jacee is named after their initials...J & C

5. After dropping of my papers yesterday at my new place of work....wow, I never felt so relieved in my life. It was so much fun talking to the Principal's wife and his secretary out at Happy Valley Charter School...

6. I finally found my camera and here are a few random pictures of Jacee....

7. I am grateful for my mom and everything she does for me!!!

Seven after Sunday

Don't know why my posts get later and later during the week maybe cause I have so much happen in the middle that I need to be grateful for...

1. I am grateful for Visiting Teaching, if it wasn't for one of the ladies I visit teach, I wouldn't have a new job today as a Teaching Assistant at Happy Valley Charter School in QC!!! I am grateful for Whitney Tisdale and giving me a heads up....

2. Even though I don't agree with his method, I am grateful for my boss not giving me a raise at my current job so it would force me to find a better job that is more suited for me!!!

3. I have been blessed to find great deals on clothes, toys and other items for Jacee. With the majority of the things that I have found, you would never know that they weren't brand new!!!

4. I am grateful for my Aunt Jennifer in trying to help me find a better career.  She has provided me with some great information on how to help my current situation and it will go great with my new job...

5. I am grateful for the opportunity to travel to Utah and attend my mom's Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Annie's 60th Wedding Anniversary....it was fun to visit with them and all my mom's cousins. It is always fun to catch up and see what is new in everyone's life...

6. I wish Chris and Karen lived a little closer...however, it is always fun to see the new pictures they have posted on facebook and blog. I am grateful for their stories and testimonies of how the Lord has blessed their lives in their time of need....They are truly inspiring!!!

7. I am grateful for a Loving Heavenly Father who knows us personally and each time I wanted to give up in finding a new job, He gave me a push to keep going and lead me to a job/career that I will be happy in!!!

Seven after Sunday

This week is a little different. I am going to write 7 affirmative things about myself....

1. I am a mother to a pretty fantastic, darling little girl named Jacee.

2. I am a very good Parts Driver for San Tan Ford and a new Pampered Chef Consultant with lots of dreams....

3. I am a very active person, I love to play softball and want to start running and swimming on a more consistent basis....

4. I am a wannabe scrapbooker and photographer....

5. I am still dreaming of being married to a wonderful man...

6. I am still wanting to own my own Full Size Truck....

7. I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a mother here on earth and a daughter to a loving Heavenly Father.....

Monday, August 19, 2013

Seven after Sunday

1. Patient - bearing pains or trials calmly or without complaint, not hasty or impetuous.
This is not me....when do things get to go my way? Ha ha....Heavenly Father must have a different plan for me cause I'm still living at home and working at San Tan Ford.  I haven't heard back from Hawthorne, hopefully, something will pop up sooner more than later.

2. Heavenly Father does answer prayers because I was late leaving work for the interview at Hawthorne and by some miracle I made it on time, without His help I would have been 5-10 minutes late.  Honestly, I really didn't drive any faster than normal....

3. I am grateful for the little things in life....when Jacee knows she is doing something wrong & turns and looks at you & gives you a big cheesy grin!  How can you get mad at that face????  She is sooo adorable...

4. I am proud of my little sister, Marian, for changing her life around and going through the temple this past week.  It will be a great blessing her in life.

5. I am amazed at the strength, courage & dedication some people have....

6. Jacee is becoming a beautiful little girl.  I can't believe how much she has grown in the last 15 months.  It seems like yesterday, she was a little baby in my arms and now she fights & kicks to get down or loose from my arms...Someone once gave me the advice to hug & hold her as often as possible, now I see why!!!  They definately don't stay little forever...

7. I had a good week that ended with my Aunt Kathy taking me out to eat for my birthday.  She is my Visiting Teacher.  I am grateful for her dedication to come each month even when her schedule is crazy...She is definately one of the best!!!

Seven after Sunday

1. This past week has made some of us think why is life so hard or unfair....One of my friend's lost her son, Daniel, who was only 4 months old.  This hit me harder than I thought it would, I don't know if it is because I've become a mother or the fact that Daniel was a twin to a sister. I've found that those who have or are having twins are very special people....  I am grateful for the knowledge that Families can be Together Forever and that Emily & her husband Adam will be able to see their son again.  And to know that their son was a choice spirit who only needed to come to earth to gain a body and not be tested here on Earth....Prayers go out to Emily and her family! Love you!!!

2. My mom surprised me this week and wanted to host a catalog show for Pampered Chef.  She is amazing and awsome! I am so grateful for everything that she does for Jacee and I.  I don't know what I would do without her....

3. Jacee continues to grow leaps and bounds. She received her first major owie this past week! It is a blister that formed on her elbow and popped.  I don't know what it is from, hopefully, it will get better soon....

4. It is fun to watch Jacee's cousin, Aiden, grow up also.  He is starting to become more and more mobile.  He has started to push himself backwards and roll across the floor. It is soooo much fun to watch...

5. I am excited and anxious for tomorrow. I have my 2nd interview tomorrow at Hawthorne Elementary School where I will be teaching parents about the benefits of reading to their children.... I know it is a totally different subject than what people suggested on facebook.  However, it is something that I was able to teach about in the mission field/Guatemala when we taught families how to read. Albert Einstein states:
"If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales."
I know this to be sooo true!!!

6. Have you ever disliked and loved a job at the same time?  That is how my job is right now....I dislike the job because some of the guys cost me a raise.  They don't realize what all their complaining did & it certainly made my situation worse....I love the job because of all the people I get to interact with everyday....I get to meet someone new each day!!! Do you make a positive impact on someone's day or life????

7.  Have you taken the time to recognize the blessings in your life?  If you haven't...I challenge you to write down the good things that happened to you during the day at night & see how the Lord has blessed you!!!  I know that He blesses each and everyone of us....it is our attitude that allows us to see them in our life....

Tuesday, August 6, 2013

Seven after Sunday

1. I think I'm in trouble Jacee's favorite place is infront of Grandma's mirror!!!

2. I made my goal of 2 shows for Pampered Chef last month.  This month is to sell $1000.00 worth of product...  August is a great month to host a show & earn some great products!!! Let me know if you are interested in hosting a cooking (in town) or catalog (out of town or with co-workers) show....

3. I haven't been working out as much this past month as I should have.  My goal is to run in four runs this fall, three are 5k's and one is a 7k....I even bought a running stroller to workout with Jacee!!!

4.  I have a second interview next Tuesday, August 13th, with Hawthorne Elementary School for the Family Support Position. I have to teach a class to low-income spanish speaking Parents....I know I can do this!!!

5. I received a bag full of free clothes for Jacee this week. I need to take pictures of all the cute outfits that I received...

6. Jacee is getting more and more couragious....She is starting to stand by herself & will more than likely start walking by herself shortly.  She still has everyone walking her around the house & around the couch....

7. This week is a great week....Happy Birthday to my sister-in-law Karen on the 7th & to my brother Chris on the 8th!!!

Seven after Sunday

1. My New Goal: From Sister Falabella, wife of Elder Enrique R Falabella: To Contend, You need two people & her motto is: "In order to contend, you need two people, & I will never be one of them." Yes, I need to work on not being so contentious in my life!  I think if I really thought about the conversations and did my part, I would be a lot happier....

2. I want to encourage Jacee to love music because "A Child Who Sings Is A Happy Child." How touching is it to hear the song of a little one who has been taught by his or her parent to sing, "I am a Child of God."

3. The Temple is the Place: "Set a Goal to get married in the temple, only the temple can declare you, "Husband & Wife for Time & All Eternity."  In the Celestial Glory there are three heavens or degrees, "And in order to obtain the highest a man must enter into this order of the Priesthood."

4. It is not enough to know the scriptures, we have to live them. Those who live the Celestial Principles found in the scriptures give comfort to those who suffer, they bring joy to those who are depressed, direction to those who are lost, peace to those who are distressed, and asure guidance to those who seek the truth.

5. The Words We Speak, "One of the greatest influences a person can have in the world is to influence a child, Children's beliefs and self-worth are shaped early in their lives. We can learn from that voice from Heaven. It was not loud, scolding, or demeaning, it was a still small voice of perfect mildness, giving firm direction while giving hope. How we speak to our children & the words we use can encourage & uplift them & strengthen their faith to stay on the path back to Heavenly Father. They come to this earth ready to listen.

6. Pray to know your Child's needs: to speak to a child's heart, we must know a child's needs. If we pray to know those needs, the very words we say may have the power to reach into their hearts. Our efforts are magnified when we seek the direction of the Holy Ghost. The answer to our prayer of how to meet our children's needs maybe more often to technologically disconnect. Precious moments of opportunity to interact and converse with our children dissolve when we are occupied with distractions.

7. I know that this week seems very Churchy....I love when I go to church and the Sacrament Talks, Sunday School & Relief Society Lessons all seem to be answers to your prayers for the struggles you are having.  Yes, I struggle every day to stay active & to keep my testimony strong.  I am a very curious person and I know what my weaknesses are... I have bad days and I have good days! I am very grateful for those who have stuck by me....

Seven after Sunday

1. Today, I didn't know if I should be sarcastic or grateful for the other driver who showed up to work when he was scheduled off because it allowed me to leave & go to my interview without any problems. I am very thankful for a Heavenly Father who knows & loves me & takes care of the small details in life....

2.  Jacee continues to amaze me!!! It was funny this morning, she was playing with her cousin, Aiden, when she grabbed his feet and completely turned him over and tried pullying him closer to her.  She is one strong little cookie!!!

3. Plus, she continues to demand that you walk her around the house.  We've even started calling the little walk area around the couch, the Jacee expressway!!! She is so funny to watch...

4. Music is going to be a big part of Jacee's life!  It is so much fun to watch her during church when we start to sing a song...she begins to lead, you see her arm go a mile a minute in the motion of the chorister, it is really cute!!!

5. I have started looking at houses to rent...I don't know why but I feel moving out into my own place is a goal that I need to achieve within the next year!!! I don't know how I am going to accomplish it, however, like I said in the first statement, I know Heavenly Father will help me make it possible!

6.  I am grateful for friends and family who love and support me!!! Without them I wouldn't be where I am today, I know that I need to become a better friend to several people and more compassionate towards my family.... It is definately something that I have been working on and will continue to do on a daily basis.

7. Pampered Chef is going to be a challenging and rewarding job for me!!! It pushes me past my comfortable zone and into that I can accomplish this.... I have done two shows/presentations now, I am excited to do a party this weekend for one of my long time friend's Jonette Coleman! She is an amazing woman...Thanks for being a great friend!

Monday, July 15, 2013

Seven after Sunday

1.  This week has been a little crazy....I did a presentation in front of my friend's toastmaster group!!!  I received several tips on how to become a better speaker and business woman!  Thank You Tammy for everything you have done for me...

2. Jacee is driving me/us crazy with wanting to be mobile.  She wants anyone and everyone to walk her around the house...She hasn't gotten up the courage yet to do it herself!!!

3. I had my interview with Maricopa County for the Clerical Clerk with Adult Probation.  I believe my interview went really smoothly....

4. With that, I am still looking for a better job.  I applied to several school and government clerical positions today....I am still praying and hoping that one of them will come through for me!

5. I am definately being challenged, I have struggled with a few gospel principles and now that I am doing them....I still find myself asking how have I been blessed because of it?  I know that is being selfish and that I need to change my attitude towards things....

6.I am trying to receive free product from Pampered Chef, however, a couple of my shows have cancelled and I am trying to find others to fill in. If you would like to help me out either through a party or if you are out of town a catalog show that would be awsome!!!

7. I need to stay stong!  I can feel myself fighting against the things that I know are right because the things that I know are wrong is sooooo much easier & happier....There are a lot of things that I have questioned in the past year, especially, when complete strangers have been way nicer than my own family members....I need to forgive and forget & move on in life....

Monday, July 8, 2013

Seven after Sunday

1. Congratulations to my brother & sister-in-law on their 12th Anniversary!!!  Their family has grown in more ways than one....Chris graduated from Drake Law School in May and has been accepted to a 4th year of Law at Georgetown University.  Karen continues to be a stay at home mom and is an instructor at the local YMCA.  They have 4 boys and 1 girl that totally keep them on their toes....William (8), Annmarie (7), Jeffrey (6), Jed (4) and Henry (1)!!!

2.  The month of July has so many good memories of visiting my Grandpa Jones in Utah....we would sit out on the front porch swing and eat watermelon from his garden, watch the parade pass by and at night launch fireworks on the 4th, pluse, there were several trips to the Manti Pageant and fish hatchery, and you can never forget the experience of feeding a calf with a bottle!!! He was extremely proud of each and everyone of his grandchildren. He was always excited when one of us were about to leave on a mission, graduate from college, get married or have children of our own....

3. Freedom....do we really know what that is anymore?  Many people believe freedom is a free handout....Really?  I always remember the days from the MTC when I received lessons on the welfare of the church and the quote that stands out the most:  If you give a man a fish, he has a meal for a day....If you teach a man how to fish, he has a meal for a lifetime!!!

4. Freedom....I love the ability to choose what I want to be, where I want to go, whom I am friends with and what church I belong to!  Freedom is a gift from God!!!  I love being an American Citizen and having the privileges & responsibilities that come a long with that...

5. Love....I can't believe how you don't know what true love is all about until you are married or have a child of your own!  When you are willing to sacrifice everything you have for that one person...it is definately one of the greatest feelings in the world!  It is important that we remember we are truly Children of a Heavenly Father who loves US!!!

6. Love....this reminds me of the Relief Society lesson we had on Sunday about Charity!  Is it a coincidence that the theme for Relief Society is Charity Never Faileth?  Charity is the Pure Love of Christ....we must be able to love ourselves for who we are and forgive ourselves for the mistakes we have made in order to truly love our neighbors as thyself! How can we learn to love others if we don't like or love ourselves?

7. These past couple of weeks have been totally crazy at work!  I have received several compliments and Thank You's from several customers....I love my job, however, I am extremely excited for both of my interviews on Wednesday (Judicial Clerk with Maricopa County and Managerial Class with Enterprise)  I can't wait!!!

Berries 'N Stars

Berries 'N Stars
Ingredients.

1 package (17.25 ounces) frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
2 lemons
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
... 1 container (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 quart strawberries, hulled and sliced (about 3 cups slices)
1/2 pint blueberries (about 1 cup)
Powdered sugar
Directions.
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Unfold one pastry sheet onto lightly floured Rectangle Stone. Roll into 13 x 10-inch rectangle using lightly floured Baker's Roller®. Move pastry into one corner of the stone, leaving open space along two sides. Unfold second sheet of pastry onto smooth side of Large Grooved Cutting Board; roll to a 13 X 10-inch rectangle. Cut four 1-inch-thick strips lengthwise from second sheet using Pizza Cutter; reserve remaining dough for decoration. Brush outer edges of pastry on baking stone with water using Chef's Silicone Basting Brush. Arrange and press strips around edge of pastry, forming an even border. Trim off any excess dough. Prick entire bottom of pastry with pastry tool.

2. Cut 16 stars from remaining dough sheet using Creative Cutters (discard remaining dough). Arrange stars in space along edges of baking stone. Bake 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. (Center of crust may puff up slightly, but will flatten out as it cools.) Cool completely. Remove pastry stars from baking stone; set aside.

3. Meanwhile, zest lemons with Microplane® Adjustable Grater to measure 1 tablespoon zest. Juice lemons using Juicer to measure 1/4 cup juice. In Classic Batter Bowl, whisk together condensed milk, lemon zest and juice using Stainless Whisk. Gently fold in whipped topping using Classic Scraper. Attach desired tip to Easy Accent® Decorator; completely fill with filling mixture (1 1/3 cups) and set aside for garnish.

4. Fill cooled pastry shell within border with remaining filling. Hull strawberries using Core & More; slice using Egg Slicer Plus®. Arrange strawberries and blueberries over filling. Garnish with rosettes of reserved filling and top with pastry stars. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Lightly sprinkle pastry with powdered sugar using Flour/Sugar Shaker. Slice using Chef's Knife.

Cook's Tips:

Thaw puff pastry sheets at room temperature about 1 hour before using or microwave on 20% power for 3-4 minutes until thawed but still cold. Puff pastry that is too warm is difficult to work with.

Lemons kept at room temperature will yield more juice than those that are refrigerated. To get more juice out of a lemon, roll the lemon between the palm of your hand and the Cutting Board.

Sweetened condensed milk is a mixture of whole milk and sugar that is heated until the water evaporates. The resulting mixture is sticky and sweet and is available in cans. Sweetened condensed milk is used in baked goods and desserts.

Seven after Sunday

This week has been a little crazy....

1. Jacee is becoming adventurous as she wants everyone to walk her around the house while holding onto your fingers. Plus, she is exploring every room in the house, starting to walk around the couch & I learned today she is interested in the stairs at her babysitter's house....

2. I missed playing softball the last two weeks & seeing all my crazy friends....

3. I have done a lot of pondering about this last year & have learned quite a bit about some of my cousins...I never knew some of them looked up to me & thought I was the perfect one when all I wanted was to be like them.  They all got married and had kids right away.  I know that their marriages are far from perfect but they do have what I want....

4. Work has been very busy lately....I love talking and catching up with our customers especially, one of my favorite primary teachers Becky Burgess!   I see her quite often as we deliver parts to her brother's business....I always look forward to seeing her & am disappointed when she's not there!!!  She is definitely one of the best!!!

5. This week has definitely taught me not to give up on things because there are definitely people out there willing to help you succeed & conquer your goals in life!!!

6. I started a new business!!!  Let the craziness & excitement begin....I did my first show!  I have quite a bit to work on, I know I can do this....my recipe went over really well & I can't wait to do it again!!!

7. You have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of your Life!!!

Seven after Sunday

Sorry for posting late....

1. Life has been up and down lately....Right when I think things will turn for the better, I have a car repair that brings me back to reality....

2. Swim lessons are over!!! Jacee learned a lot, she does great on her back and improved with dolphin dips and blowing bubbles.... I still need to work with her on monkey crawling and climbing in and out of the pool...She hates touching different textures!!! I know that she will continue to improve....

3. I am still looking for a better job....I have applied for a position with the box office at the Mesa Arts Center, it is a benefited part-time position that would be good for Jacee and I! I am hoping for an interview....keep me in your prayers!!!

4. I have started a new business with Pampered Chef. My 1st catalog show didn't go over very well, I am hoping for a different ending this weekend! Thank You for your support!!!

5. I missed Brother Christopherson on Sunday....I hope he is feeling better!  He gives the best Sunday School Lessons ever....

6. My new goal is to pay off some long over due bills....

7. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY BELIEVE THAT everything is possible in 2013!!!

Seven after Sunday

Never Get so busy making a Living that you forget to make a Life....

1. On that note these past three weeks have been so much fun teaching Jacee how to swim.  She is amazing!  Totally a natural on her back!  She still hates touching new things so getting her to climb out of the swimming pool is a big no....even though she does like to walk out the stairs.  Hopefully, I can get her to monkey crawl one of these days!!!

2. I have done something totally out of my comfort zone.  I am going to be a consultant for Pampered Chef!!! That means...I get to get up infront of people and present!!!  Those of you who know me....public speaking & Angie do not mix!  This is going to be interesting....I know I can conquer my fear & hopefully, make a living or at least make it easier to live for Jacee & I.  My first show is a catalog show for San Tan Ford this Thursday....

3. Once again Sunday School was sooooo awsome! I love Brother Christopherson and his lessons!!!  We talked about when Christ shall come again and how different it will be from the 1st time He came.  I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and through Him we will be able to Live with our Heavenly Father Once Again!

4. After spending the day at DES....I would be eternally grateful if I never have to go back to that place again!!! I know that there is a better job out there for me and I know that I need to be patient and keep working hard at trying to find it!  It will come along....

5.  I have started training....I forgot how much work running takes!  I don't know if my stomach will ever forgive me even after it is totally flat and looking good!!!  I also need to focus on the nutrional side...

6.  I know that I am very harsh when it comes to my Dad and Me.  We definately don't have a good relationship, however, it has become better.  I know that I need to let the past go and work on the future because my Dad won't be around forever and Jacee deserves the right to know her Grandpa! I Love You Dad and I hope you had a great Father's Day!!!

7.  Thought for the week:  Avoid using the word 'Very' because it's Lazy. A man is not very tired, He is exhausted.   Don't use very sad, Use morose. Language was invented for one reason, boys - to woo women - and, in that endeavor, laziness will not do.

Seven after Sunday

Here we go...

1. Proud Mamma moment....Jacee has learned to fall/jump into the water and immediately turnover to her back to breath!!! It has been so much fun taking swim lessons with her and seeing her progress so much.

2. Yesterday during Sunday School Class there wasn't very many people there at the beginning so we began talking about mission memories it was so much fun  Even though we served in completely different countries, we all had the same type of sleep arraingements where we only slept with sheets and a fan at the end of the bed because none of us had a/c.  It is fun to compare and talk about the areas that we all served in!!!

3. I have begun to workout again and can tell I am definately not that 18/19/20 year old any more where you can get into shape so fast.  It is going to take time but in the end it will definately be worth it....

4. This week I have learned that there are definately people out there that will do anything to help you succeed in life.... I wish I could be more like them!!!

5. 9 years ago today, the person that I looked up to the most passed away.  I could always talk to him about anything in the world and he wouldn't judge you.  Infact, when I learned the news while I was at work, I couldn't stop crying with a bus full of kids asking what was wrong because it was supposed to be a fun and exciting day at the Arizona Science Museum.  He is sorely missed and loved. I love you, Chad!!!

6. I am about to start something I would of never saw myself doing and that is starting a business on my own.  I know that it is through a very popular name, however, I am shy and very intimidated when it comes to talking infront of people.  I will have to get over that fast as that will be the majority of the job....I can't wait to tell you what it is!!!

7. Giving up on your goal because of one set back is like slashing your other three tires because you got a flat. Don't slash your own tires. Setbacks, challenges, breakdowns, tough moments and bad days happen. Don't give up then. Push through and keep focused on your goals and what you're creating.

Seven after Sunday

This week went by so much better...

1. Jacee received her 12 month shots today....I had a hard time holding & watching her receive those shots! She handled it like a champ!!!

2. Jacee weighs 22lbs 14oz and is 31 1/2" tall.  I can't believe my baby is almost 3 feet tall!!! She is becoming more mobile (booty scooting & crawling) & starting to demand to walk...

3. Swim lessons are going great! Jacee is doing good swimming on her back and is now starting to do arm motions on her stomach.  Plus, she is starting to blow bubbles....wish I had someone to come and take pictures one night!!!

4. I started my 5k training in 9 weeks tonight! I ran/walk for 20 minutes.  Walk 90sec/Run 60sec.  Plus, I started the 30 day squat challenge with 50 squats tonight.

5. I made it through day 1 of no soda with lots of water and 1 excedrin.  I want to cut back on the amount of soda I drink, especially, on the days that I run!!!

6. Sunday was a great day!  Jacee made it through church without a tantrum.  Hopefully, with reading the Sunday School Lesson and Relief Society in advance, I will continue to learn and grow!!!

7. This week has taught me to be in Love with My Life Every Minute of It!!!

Seven after Sunday

1. Jacee turned ONE yesterday!!!  I can't believe it has already been a year.  Life has gone by so fast this past year.  I hope this time next year we will be even happier than we already are....

2. My car took a dump this past week.  Trying to figure out what is wrong and who to take it to since San Tan Ford is to far away.  Hopefully, it won't cost tooo much!!!

3. Everything was going good until today....  Yes, I know that I am a very hard person to get a long with! I will never have a clean bedroom while I'm living here because I have way to much stuff. No, I don't plan on getting rid of anything because after all it is for an apartment/house of my own.

4. Why is it when people think I'm a terrible mom....that I need counseling!!! Yes, I do believe counseling will help in the long run but it definately won't solve every problem that comes along. I have considered it, however, every single time I have scheduled an appointment the Counselor has cancelled....

5. This past year, I have learned that the Church is definately true, The Gospel is perfect and that I should never put my faith in the members of the Church (especially members of my family) because they will end up disappointing you because they are human...

6. I know that the choices I have made have placed me in the position that I'm in now....I believe that the choices that I am about to make will get me on the path that I need to be!!!

7.  Live life in the moment because if you are always looking ahead you will never be happy....

Seven after Sunday

This week has been up and down...

1. I have taken a step closer to finding a new hobby....I found a beading class that is offered at the Mesa Arts Center!

2. My goal is still to run a 5k! I found running clothes...I am still working on finding a couple pairs of running shoes and a running stroller...

3. My friend started a facebook page to document her journey in training for a TRI...I need to do this and this can be the place I start it!!!

4. Jacee is my world! She is the cutest thing ever! Especially, when she watches a Musical TV show (the Voice, So You Think You Can Dance or American Idol)...she becomes totally entranced by what is going on!!!

5. I'm not sure if I like Jacee being so mobile! It has forced me to clean the living room cause yesterday, she found way to many disgusting things underneath the couch...I know I know, everyone said to enjoy her not being mobile while it lasts!!!

6. I am still so thankful for a Sunday School Class for Parents with childer 0-18mons...Yesterday, the lesson was about Tithing...I am grateful for the blessings I have received from paying my tithing. I know we can become closer to our Heavenly Father by doing so & He is ready to bless us!!!

7. Devastation can happen at a moments notice....How prepared are you?  I know that I need to do way better at this....1st I need to become financially independant by paying off all my debt!  I know that our Heavenly Father will bless us as we do what we are asked to do...

Running is like life -  there is no RESET button, you just practice & improve!!!

Seven after Sunday

I changed the post to Seven after Sunday since I have been a day late the last 3 weeks.  I am going to do something a little different this time because I feel like I need to start setting goals every week.  I haven't set goals for quite a while now & since I feel like I have failed on the promise to my little girl that I made a year ago last Mother's Day before she was born....

1. I feel like a horrible mother because I promised my un-born daughter at the time that this time next year I would have a better job and we would be living in our own home.  It hasn't happened yet, I don't know what I have done wrong or if it is not time yet and I have several more lessons to learn.  Yes, my goal is still to find a better job and to move out on my own with my beautiful daughter Jacee.

2. My next goal is to start training for a 5k. I know I can do this!

3. I would like to start eating healthier by eating a new vegetable every week.  This week I already made sweet potatoes & have butternut squash in the refrigerator and ready to cook!

4. I know that I need to read the scriptures more.  I need to study the lessons for Gospel Doctrine & Relief Society Class before attending on Sundays...

5. To find something enjoyable everyday! Like today was sooo cute when Jacee started singing and clapping along to the music in the car on the way home from the babysitters...

6. To become better with my finances...

7. Find a new hobby besides softball....It would be fun to take a beading class or a card making class.

Seven on Sunday

A day late again...

1. Thank goodness for summer....swimming season begins! Jacee is doing so good!  She went under today without screaming or puking all over me like some of her cousins & friends....Plus, I have registered her for swim lessons this summer!

2. I need to stop procrastinating and set some goals to achieve, I have a couple of people who are willing to help me set up a running & swimming program to get back into shape.

3. I need to find away to pay for a beading class this summer....

4. I also want to take a card making class...

5. I am thankful to be playing softball again on Friday nights.  Thanks to Anna & Deanne for the invite!

6. I am thankful for the Gospel Doctrine Class for parents with children 18 months and younger....It totally makes church enjoyable.

7. I need to start studying the lessons for Gospel Doctrine & Relief Society so when I forget my books/scriptures I know what is going on...

Seven on Sunday

Yes, I'm a day late, however, yesterday was my Grandma Scott's birthday and we had a family dinner out at my grandparents' place.

1. Jacee now has 4 teeth and is starting to eat finger foods really well.  I have to remember to break down everything before giving it to her.

2. Grandma Carmen got the whole family tickets to the Diamondback's game on Saturday, Aiden & Jacee was able to attend their 1st major league baseball game together.  The Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies 3-2 in ten innings.

3. Jacee made it through a full day of church without having a break down.  It helps so much that our ward made a Gospel Doctrine Class for parents who have children 0-18 months.

4. Jacee met a lot of new people at Grandpa & Grandma's last night. Uncle Cecil & Aunt Margaret, Josh, Bailey, Hunter, Shana & Uncle Phil....We visited with Aunt Analee, Grandpa & Grandma, Aunt Betty & Uncle Doug, Shandi, Aunt Elaine & she still screams with Uncle Gary. We didn't get to talk with Shana's family...

5. During the baseball game Jacee said a new word, duck, she recognized it from her bath toys...

6. I am grateful for Robert who worked for me on Saturday so I could attend the Diamondback Outdoor's day with my family...

7. Still hoping to find a new job...

Seven on Sunday

1. Jacee officially has 4 teeth now, 2 on top and 2 on bottom!!!  Thank goodness for Tylenol, Motrin & Hyland's Teething Tablets...

2. I'm grateful for the WIC Program....it has helped me to provide food & formula for Jacee this past year.

3. Thankful for the opportunity of going to church today and participating in taking the sacrament as I missed last week from being sick. The speakers spoke on missionary work, the first one is about to leave on his mission and explained to us how he has prepared to serve & the 2nd one was a high counselor who spoke about reading the 6th chapter of Preach My Gospel.

4. Thankful for the opportunity to be a Visiting Teacher. I need to become a better partner & do my share of the work each month.  Especially, when it is my turn to make the appointments!!! Plus, I'm thankful for Visiting Teachers who come every month even though I don't always show it.

5. Thankful for new appliances....we bought a dishwasher & a washing machine this month.

6. Thankful for all the Senators who voted against the gunsright bill. I understand the importance of background checks, however, we need to use the money in other places such as psychiatric help, special needs and parenting classes.

7. After all the tragedy that happened this week in Boston, I am grateful for the 1st responders who helped all those who were wounded by the bombs that went off, for the citizen who lost both his legs but gave police a description of one of the bombers, for the police officers who continued to do their work to track and find the killers, for the citicizen who was brave enough to follow a blood trail to his boat & let officials know that the 2nd suspect was in his backyard in his boat.  Everyone who participated in the capturing of the Boston Bombers are heros.  God Bless all the families who have been affected by this tragedy that occurred!!!

Seven on Sunday

1. I am grateful that my mom took care of Jacee while I was at Urgent Care for my double ear infection.

2. For modern day medicine which took away the pain of the ear infection.

3. For the ability to watch Conference at home.

4. For the ability to listen to a Prophet's Voice during these hard times.

5. For the ability to repent.

6. For the ability to set and achieve goals in my life.  I need to become better at this and not set obstacles in the way of doing this.

7. I really need to work on patience so I can become a better mom for Jacee.
